Welcome to Cybersecurity @ BYU
BYU's new Cyebrsecurity program, launched in Fall 2018, is the first undergraduate cybersecurity degree available in Utah. As a recognized Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education, BYU is helping meet the growing deficit of cybersecurity professionals within the United States, and around the World. The Cybersecurity program is closely related to the BYU Information Technology (IT) Program and students are currently able to transfer between majors with relative ease. Please contact the advisement office for more information. Curricula content includes Information Assurance and Security, Incident Response & Digital Forensics, Penetration Testing & Ethical Hacking and Secure Systems Administration. These courses cover the three basic principles of Cybersecurity: Prepare, Defend and Act.
Information Systems and Computer Science also offer security related courses. Most cybersecurity courses are available to Computer Science, Information Systems and other engineering students who have completed the necessary prerequisites.
